Still dark red in colour with no visible orangy brick colour yet. Drinks very well now actually and not past it's drinking date. Quite earthy with just the right amount of acidity. Quite dusty. Pretty smooth tannins with loads of berry after-taste. Overall, this is still a solid medium-bodied bottle of Paulliac rouge that's very elegant.
This wine is far more enjoyable and delicious compared to the older 1996 vintage.
